What are the symptoms of Heart Attack ?
Patient who has heaviness / pain in chest, radiating to arm. back or sometimes pain only in jaw or abdomen and not in chest associated with sweating. nausea or vomiting.
What is the cause of heart attack ?
Heart attack occurs due to blockage of blood vessels which supply blood to heart.
What is the treatment of heart attack ?
We take ECG of patient and give them medicines to decrease pain and start blood thinners. If ECG show significant changes, then we do angiography of the patient to check blockage in blood vessels of heart.
If blockage is found in angiography, then the treatment depends the amount of blockage and how many arteries are blocked. This helps to decide between angioplasty or bypass surgery.
What precautions do one have to take to avoid heart attack ?
Stop smoking, control BP & Sugar. Regular exercises. Weight control. Salt and Fat reduction.
