Peripheral Angioplasty is a procedure to open blockage of arteries of arm or leg.

In which patient peripheral angioplasty is needed?
Peripheral angioplasty is needed in patients with blockage of arteries of arm or leg. Patient may have pain in leg while walking or have sudden pain and blue discoloration in arm or leg.

What is procedure peripheral angioplasty ?
From arm or groin region a wire is passed to cross the stenosis which is opened up with balloon and a metal stent is placed.

Is it a painful procedure?
No. Only a needle prick is needed and there is no need of any cut or blood transfusion. We use local anesthesia for the procedure.
How much is the Hospital needed?
One day after procedure for cardiac honitoring and IV medications.

What are the precautions after procedure ?
We have to take medicines as advised by doctor, have to avoid smoking, control BP and sugar levels.
